Dan’s have been importing Dopff wines from Alsace on a continuous basis since the ’50s. For nearly 70 years Dopff has provided great value and quality for our customers, especially those customers seeking something a little different. Each vintage has its own personality. The 2020 impresses with a savoury, honeysuckle, lychee nose. There’s a zesty buzz of sherbet acidity on entry. This year the rounder fruit flavours are prominent - not at all like Aussie citrus styles. Textural, supple stonefruit notes, a tiny hint of soft spice, slight honey or honeysuckle flavours and baked apple. Rich enough to stand up to traditional Alsace dishes such as pork, the long finish has sufficient acid to cut through and clean up the richness of the meat.
