Independent wineryEmily's Paddock is not only wonderful upon release, this wine will age gracefully over many years in the good cellar. This red blend is mostly Shiraz - with a defining splash of Cabernet Franc. A lot has been made over the years of the “terroir” difference between Jasper Hill Emily’s and Georgia’s, but it’s the Cabernet franc that really differentiates them. Wonderfully fragrant and lifted on the nose.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Dark and intense, Emily's Paddock seems to walk a bolder road than it once did. Cabernet franc florals are fully pliant to be slowly revealed with air and time. Bramble, black fruits, jalapeño, licorice, sage, bitter chocolate and vanilla aromas introduce a wine that moves like a medium-bodied shiraz but elicits power and intensity. Enmeshed in fine grain tannins, there are many layers yet to be discovered here.
