Charles Melton''s Rose is always one of the first to market - and one of the first to sell out too. I generally find myself leaning towards the provencal style these days but the crisp vibrancy of what Melton delivers has lost none of its legitimacy. And I really like this 2011 release. It feels beautifully dry through the finish. It tastes of rose petals, rubber, dried herbs and strawberries. There''s almost a - most welcome - undergrowth-like character here.
