Light bodied red wines have a water-light mouthfeel and light flavour impact. Often pale to light/medium in colour.

A very delicate interpretation by Otago standards. A pretty wine, with a nice line of sinewy tannins and fleshy red strawberry fruits. Delicious.

Matua are certainly on a roll in recent years, producing stunning white and red examples. This is classic Central Pinot Noir - plush, lush and juicy. Plum, cherry and nutmeg abound. The wine saturates the palate with flavour and silky tannins. Its powerful but never brutal - the classic iron fist in the velvet glove. The ultimate crowd pleaser.
