This is classic Koonunga Hill, harking back to the early 1990s when it was consistently among the finest value premium cellar-worthy wines anywhere on the planet. Plum, clove, fresh leather, star anise; very plush with beautifully polished tannins. Nougat and cedar interwoven throughout, an utter revelation to enjoy now!

Good depth to the colour; time will tell whether this is the best Koonunga Hill since the ''76, certainly it will be somewhere up there; blackberry, plum and black cherry drive the bouquet and palate, with the influence of oak as evident in texture as flavour, the tannins typical Penfolds.
