About this product

The original Wolf Blass Brown Label Shiraz was first released in 1975, a blend of Shiraz from Langhorne Creek and the Barossa Valley. The wine came to be known as Brown Label 'Classic Shiraz', evolving into the finest Shiraz blend of the vintage, with fruit selected from the year's three most outstanding regions. Today, Brown Label has proudly been reinstated to the Wolf Blass collection. This is a truely synergistic Shiraz, bringing together the rich opulent fruit of McLaren Vale, the fragrance and finesse of Langhorne Creek and the depth, tannin structure and length of the Barossa Valley.

Deep dark colour with a purple edge, dense fruit with chocolate characters and a faint fruit sweetness. Still plenty of oak there, time should tame it a little more. The wine is not even halfway through it's life at 9 years, plenty of time

Too much tannin for 2012 vintage in 2024

I was thinking a wine of this vintage would be smooth and rouding out on the age alone, but found this to be harsh and still tannin rich. To the nose it hints of Carmel but it does not come though when drinking. Your money is better spent
