Of the many delectable experiences to be had in the Australian wine scene, surely, near the top, must rank the pleasure of a glass or two of perfectly aged Riesling. The 2017 Classic Clare from Leasingham provides exactly that. After a stint in our climate controlled cellar it has emerged as a near perfect example of what great Clare Riesling is capable of. Age has built richness; intense lemon curd, lime marmalade and lemongrass flavours have always been present, and the first hints of highly attractive buttery/toastiness are now appearing. A uniquely Australian wine experience that's not to be missed.
