Both this and its '16 sibling were made by Rick Kinzbrunner at Giaconda in identical fashion (wild fermented in French Sirugue barrels, 50% new, matured for 18 months). Thus the vintage is the key (and an extra year's development for this wine). It was a great vintage, full ripeness at a lower alcohol level, the length is prodigious.

A formidable wine. This has enormous yet restrained power. It's trim, taut minerality underpins the concentrated guava, nashi and yellow pear flavours and the complexity holds your attention impressively.
