The wine is gorgeously fruited and beautifully lifted on the nose showing dark plum, blackberry, violet, hazelnut, pepper spice and subtle cocoa notes, followed by a succulent palate that is plump and fleshy. The wine offers terrific fruit purity together with elegant spicy complexity, wonderfully complemented by silky texture and polished tannins.

Hand-picked, small batch open-fermented, matured in barrel for 12 months. Excellent colour; stacked with blackberry fruit ex the shiraz, the grenache adding a posy of red fruits, mourvedre bringing in soft tannins of its own. It's the freshness, the juicy vibrancy that brings home the bacon. James Halliday MW
