Petaluma

Riesling 2017

2017, being a later, longer vintage, saw the production of outstanding rieslings in the Clare Valley. The famous Petaluma Hanlin Hill vineyard produced fragrant, elegant riesling with more than a hint of tropical fruit to complement the usual Clare citrus and mineral notes. As a 5 year old (tasted Sept. 2022), having spent a few years in our cellar, the wine shows both generosity of fruit and great clarity. The very beginnings of toastiness are emerging to add greater complexity to the mix. Thoroughly enjoyable now, the wine will age gracefully for a few more years if required.
