Vines planted in 1912. Gently destemmed retaining whole berries, cool ferment in open fermenters, aged for 15 months in new and seasoned French puncheons. An intelligent winemaking approach, capturing the more elegant qualities of the variety and its provenance. Perfumed and gently sweet-fruited, harmonious throughout.

How good is it that the Barossa retains 100 (plus) year old grenache vinesHow good is it that the Barossa retains 100 (plus) year old grenache vines? They produce such wonderfully balanced fruit and ought to be regarded as a national treasure. Hare's Chase have captured the essence of great Barossa grenache here with this brambly, savoury style. The richness and concentration of the wine was enhanced by 'bleeding off' some early 'free run' juice. The resultant wine has a seamless quality with smooth, aromatic red and blue spiced fruit flavours. Flavour and finesse all in one neat package.
