Totally opaque inky black crimson red colour with a deep dark crimson black tinged hue. Aromas of ripe blackcurrant and liquorice merge as top notes on the nose with some underlying cigar box, subtle bay leaf and spice aromas. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses superb richness and fruit purity with ripe blackcurrant flavours followed by some ripe dark mulberry, a touch of liquorice, bay leaf, cigar box and spice. Solid but very fine grained, beautifully integrated tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe rich blackcurrant, liquorice, cigar box and spice.
