While its origins have – and always will be – in McLaren Vale, the distinctive Balmoral style pays tribute to the Shiraz wines of the Rhone Valley and Mediterranean – hence the traditional French name Syrah.

Deep, vivid crimson-purple; an inspired decision by winemaker Matt Koch to limit the maturation in French and American oak to 8 months (half or less of normal for a wine of this level) has allowed the intense black fruits to fully express their varietal DNA while remaining in an elegant, medium-bodied mode. A really lovely wine.
