RosemountBalmoral Syrah 2012
About this product
Rosemount Estate’s Balmoral Syrah has always been a varietal masterpiece – a credit to the great Shiraz vines of McLaren Vale. Sitting at the very top of the Rosemount Estate family tree, Balmoral has achieved both local and international success. While its origins have – and always will be – in McLaren Vale, the distinctive Balmoral style pays tribute to the Shiraz wines of the Rhone Valley and Mediterranean – hence the traditional French name Syrah.

Deep, vivid crimson-purple; an inspired decision by winemaker Matt Koch to limit the maturation in French and American oak to 8 months (half or less of normal for a wine of this level) has allowed the intense black fruits to fully express their varietal DNA while remaining in an elegant, medium-bodied mode. A really lovely wine.
