WoodlandsHeather Jean Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
About this product
A ripe plush Cabernet style showing classic cassis and cedar with vibrant acidity and fine grained tannins with excellent potential to age; the Heather Jean is named after one of the founders of Woodlands. The Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the original 1973 plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon and the wine also comprises a small proportion of Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Planted on gravel soils with a south facing aspect, the vineyard receives maximum sunlight, ideal for ripening Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit is fermented in small open vats with a portion of the juice on skins for up to 40 days, before ageing in French oak for 20 months.
