The malt masters from Islay, Bruichladdich, continue to embark on a whisky tour de force with the 6th edition of the uber-experimental cult Octomore range - the world's most heavily peated whisky at 167PPM. Titanic amounts of peat but with a light, delicate complexity and a beguiling finesse. The Octomore is young, yet eminently mature. Distilled using 100% Scottish barley and matured entirely on Islay for 5 years in American oak casks. With only a few bottles available worldwide, this is one piece of whisky art not to miss out on.

This is a remarkable Whisky, for something so young (5 yrs) it carries itself with grace, think a concentrated Ardbeg or a peatier Lagavulin. Highly recommended for Islay Smoke Heads Nose: the ocean, salt water, massive smoke/peat as well
