Gordon & MacphailRare Old Brora 1978 Scotch Whisky 700mL
About this product
The story of Brora is a fascinating one but sadly too long to relate here. It was the original Clynelish distillery. Although on the East coast resurrected to create an Islay style malt with great success but closed in the 1980’s. Indeed a rare old highland whisky. Much sought after. The nose is sweet butterscotch with lemon and lime, subtle peatsmoke edge and a hint of coffee. Cured bacon follows tinged with blueberries.A palate of white pepper, banana, coconut and plum. Moving to charred wood, banana, peach and orange flavours. A lingering hint of mint develops. A whisky to savour if you get the chance
