About this product

Mortlach is one of seven distilleries around Dufftown. One of the few distilleries allowed to keep producing during World War II. G&M still hold Mortlach distillation from these years. It is one of a handful of whiskies that can withstand long ageing in oak. Initially sweet, fresh and fragrant with a distinct malty nose. Well rounded, malty and fresh on the nose with a subtle sweetness. Defined Sherry influences and a hint of chocolate and orange. The taste is more subtle sweetness, hints of candied fruits. Sherry is evident and some raisin and sultana notes.

Decently smoky, not overly strong. Good for a new Whisky drinker because it's not overpowering, good for a whisky lover because it has a nice peat, good wood.
