Halfway between a rose and a conventional light-bodied dry red, this is a bright, light transparent crimson wine. It sends a big come-on message with its dangerously delicious silky, juicy and bright small red fruits (redcurrant, strawberry). You could chill it like a white wine in summer.

Negroamaro is an ancient variety hailing from southern Italy. This Barossa grown version shows typical dark fruit and beguiling flavours of fleshy cherries, cola, anise and dried herb. The variety loves warm weather so may well have a future in Australia. This would be a very good place to start for those wishing to explore the variety, or, for those looking for something a little different.
