Vintage 2019

Frankly, it’s not that easy to find really good, moderately priced Australian merlots. They often lack the plump fleshiness of good imported merlots. The Blue Pyrenees, 2019 is, very much, an exception to the rule. Here we have as much supple, juicy plumpness as you need. Perfectly balanced, medium in weight, and with silky tannins, and a lightness of touch, it exhibits a fine array of ripe and aromatic fruit characters. Mulberry, spiced plum, and blueberry fruit all come to mind. A lick of western Victorian mint and soft, earthy tannins finish a wine that shows very attractive drinkability.
