CorioleLloyd Reserve Shiraz 2011
About this product
McLaren Vale royalty. One of the "must have" wines for any decent Australian cellar. Produced from vines planted in 1919, the 2011 vintage is at the lighter end of deeply coloured, displaying shades of ruby with no sign of "bricking" at all. Undeniably full flavoured, the 2011 surrenders density in favour of finesse. Regionality is not in question, with "Vale" chocolate and spice tinged blackberries and earthy ultra-fine tannins providing the most impact. The balance is impeccable. At this rate it should still be drinking well in 10 years.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Full purple-crimson; absolutely in the heartland of McLaren Vale, redolent of medium- to full-bodied blackberry, licorice and plentiful dark chocolate; there is no issue whatsoever about the tannins, which are perfectly pitched.
