About this product

In a neat twist of French-British rivalry, this estate was named for a British officer, Major General Palmer, who established ties to Bordeaux by immigrating there in 1814. One of the top estates in the touted appellation of Margaux, Palmer sits at 3rd Growth level, but is often considered equal amongst 1st Growth producers, due to the inherent quality of the wines. The higher Merlot content (54%) is unusual for the appellation, but a calling card of the estate - Cabernet Sauvignon makes up another 40% of the blend, with Petit Verdot the remaining component. This 2010 release is exceptional for concentration, precision and vitality.
