From only 20 hectares of vines, this is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend that spends 18 months in 50% new oak. While powerful, there is surprising restraint too, and though similar in style to the sister property, finds distinction in soil profiles that lend some earthy minerality here.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.

Another wine showing better from bottle than it did from barrel, the 2010 Langoa Barton has the typical structured, dense style, but just as I thought earlier on, it is a much softer and more developed wine than one ordinarily expects from proprietor Anth.
