Château FaugèresSaint-Émilion 2010
About this product
Chateau Faugeres sits in a cohort of producers known for their more progressive take on wines of the appellation, and considered, in a way, diverging from traditions of Bordeaux. The wine is sourced from 20 hectares of vineyards, set to 85% Merlot, with the blend taking on Cabernet Franc and a dash of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is sent to bottle unfined and unfiltered, lending textural complexity and a 'wild' streak to the wines. 2010 is extremely expressive, vibrant and imbued with a graphite-like mineral vein. It's a fine wine from St-Emillion in a stellar year, but toeing an entirely exciting line.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

The estate’s most abundant cuvee of about 5,000+ cases is the 2010 Faugeres, a blend of 85% Merlot with the rest mostly Cabernet Franc and just a small quantity of Cabernet Sauvignon, all bottled unfined and unfiltered. It is another St.-Emilion hitting 1.
