About this product

Regarded amongst the upper tier of St-Emillion proudcers, Clos De l'Oratoire is unusual in its vinificatin, which tends to more Burgundian practices and uses extended barrel aging to create the 'house style'. The wines are Merlot dominant, in 2010 seeing 95% of the variety in this wine with a splash of Cabernet Franc for complexity and perfume. Fruit is hand picked and sorted for best bunches, and harvest is decidedly late in the season for intentionally finding maximum ripeness. These are blockbuster style wines, but retain a finesse and freshness underlying that keeps the wines wonderfully drinkable - 2010 is at the peak of Clos De l'Oratoire's wines.
