About this product

Boutari Nauoussa was the first bottled wine in Greece in 1879 and has continued to become one of the nations benchmark wines. Produced using one of Greece''s native grapes, Xinomavro, meaning ''acid-black'', the wine has a rich tannic character full of red fruits and gooseberry with hints of olives, spices and dried tomatoes. A excellently structured red wine with aging potential.

Savoury and fleshy. Medium weight. Took a while to get used to the flavour, as had not previously had this variety and unlike more familiar reds. But i found it quite satisfying and interesting. Best with savoury food.
