Starting out as a late night 'what if', Bruichladdich Octomore' is the concept to distil the most heavily-peated barley humanly possible. The 4.2 'Comus' barley is malted to a level of 167ppm, matured in the finest oak possible and impregnated with the greatest sweet wine known to man, Sauternes. This oddly, beautiful combination brings a kaleidoscope of aromatics, peat smoke, leather, tobacco with a little twist of mint toffee onto a supernatural palate, going crazy with excitement. This single malt Whisky is bottled at a cask strength of 61% and is very limited with only 18,000 bottles worldwide.
