Very concentrated, very dense, brooding kind of wine, but has a lightness too – a flightiness that keeps you going back to glass. Tarry, charry, earthy and deep, but again, there’s a whip clean through the finish and savoury tannins chiming in. Surprising lightness on feet for a wine with this density. Quixotic. Heat builds. As does syrupiness, but has a place, and done pretty well for that, and the seduction builds with time.
