This program has been named 'Fine & Rare' and is the definitive story of The Macallan and provides an unprecedented opportunity for collectors and connoisseurs to celebrate or mark a year that is special to them with the world's most precious vintage whisky. The 1947 specifically is a wonderful story in itself. Originally bottled for in 1962 as a 15 year old and was subsequently re-bottled in 2008 to ensure a consistent look and feel to the Macallan Fine and Rare Collection. Interestingly this malt will be a little more peaty than a normal Macallan malt due to the distillery using peat in their kilns for a few years during and after World War II due to the price and rarity of coal.
