About this product

In 2013 Ardbeg are celebrating the unique archaeological character of the famous whisky island of Islay with the release of the Ardbog. Inspired by the peat and the deep, marshy bogs that have made the island synonymous with powerhouse whiskies, Ardbog is a limited edition rare vatting that displays the full complexity of Islay. Different styles of rich and salty Ardbeg whiskies (aged for at least 10 years) have been married with soft, sweet ex-Manzanilla casks to create a dram of great depth and peaty complexity.

Another nice Ardbeg, but this one really needs a splash of water. Salted toffee, citrus and vanilla with a good helping of peat, but somewhat dry. A good drop of water brings out more of the salty toffee and fruit. The box makes for a good

Unlike some of the other new release Ardbegs which are big on sherry, this is a far more smokey and savoury affair. Still just a big and complex as you'd expect.
