About this product

As people of the soil, Italians worked their land for centuries developing a rich and highly desired food and wine culture that continues until this day. Fleeing war-torn Europe at the end of the First World War, Italian migrants, many from the poor rural areas in the south of the country, began settling in South Australia’s McLaren Vale bringing with them winemaking and culinary knowledge. Rising up against the occupying German forces, the Italian partisans would come to reclaim their land and sovereignty from the invaders. Drawing inspiration from these peasant armies, Partisan gets back to the basics of winemaking, returning to the soil and producing wines that express their regionality. Skilfully made by Corey Ryan, the White Label Shiraz is deep red in colour with a lifted nose of dark cherry fruits, flowers, black pepper and hints of charcuterie. The palate is an explosion of dark berry flavours, a seductive fruit sweetness and soft savoury tannins.
