Kay Brothers Amery VineyardsBlock 6 Shiraz 1996
About this product
With a vineyard that dates back to 1892, the history and pedigree of this McLaren Vale Shiraz can almost be tasted; in fact it can. Cropping at extremely low levels, the fruit from the Block 6 vineyards is of extreme and rare quality. The wine is an excellent example of a big, rich & brooding McLaren Shiraz. After basket pressing & fermentation in open top fermenters built in 1896, the wine is matured for over 2 years in new American & Baltic oak producing intense flavour & great longevity. This one is definitely a keeper. The 1996 is borne out of what many regard as the best modern vintage in South Australia and will be drinking at its optimum over the next decade.
