Clean blackberry, plum and a touch of prune on the bouquet; the palate utterly belies the alcohol, with a cascade of black fruits and spices; very good oak and tannin management.

This tastes of salt, seaweed, and ink. Unusual characters for a cool-year wine – though not unattractive. Once again, it’s exotically fragrant. The palate is cherry-plummed, floral, long and tannic – the tannin grainy and aristocratic. Lovely lingering fruitiness. Gorgeous wine.
