Charles MeltonNine Popes 2007
About this product
Charlie Melton was the pioneer of the southern Rhône Grenache blends in Australia and today continues his legacy with the outstanding Nine Popes. By taking a stance against the government funded vine pull scheme of the 1980s, he has single handedly saved some of the worlds most ancient vineyards. The 2007 Popes is a again a wine of true beauty and power. Overflowing with bold fruit flavours of blueberry, boysenberry and raspberry that is married with dark cedar and tobacco and a super fine tannin backbone. Wonderfully powerful today, yet will cellar nicely until the late 2010s.
