Has the quality of Chalambar from the 1950s and early '60s, the synergy of the Bendigo richness and Grampians elegance producing a fragrant bouquet and elegant, well balanced and long palate, with purple fruits trimmed by positive tannins.

...There’s nothing streaky or herbal about this release – or even overtly spicy. It feels solidly central Victorian. Blueberries, black cherries, blackberries. Yes there’s some earth and ground spice, in attractive measure, but ripe dark fruits are the main order of the day. Smoky, toasty oak lends a hand, without intruding. This will be better in a couple of years but it’s certainly enjoyable now. I’d reckon this will prove to be a top-notch Chalambar.
