About this product

Rolf Binder's Hanisch Shiraz is their flagship wine. Consisting of Shiraz grown on the Veritas Estate Vineyard, the Hanisch is named in honour of the original owner of the land, 'Punch' Hanisch. Purchased in 1968, planted to vine in 1972, but the mid 1980s flavours from sections of this vineyard were so pronounced and characterful, that the first wine bottled separately from the vineyard came in 1988. A super premium Barossa Shiraz, and quite rare too, the 2002 was borne out of an outstanding vintage that saw temperature, sunshine and precipitation merge wonderfully. Ripe blue and black fruits are now beginning, after more than a decade in bottle, to meld expertly with the tannic, acid and oak structure to produce a truly brilliant example of Australia's pre-eminent wine style.
