About this product

Planted in 1974 by 76 year-old Sydney Hamilton the front twenty rows of Cabernet Sauvignon on his Coonawarra vineyard were his pride and joy. Having previously retired from a long and distinguished career in winemaking, Sydney still desired to create a classic Australian Cabernet Sauvignon and settled in Coonawarra with a clear vision and absolute determination. Now in the custody of winemakers Paul Gordon and Greg Foster, the front twenty rows are treated with the utmost respect, in honour of their founding father. Together with the vineyard team they carefully select only the best premium cabernet sauvignon grapes from these rows to create this classic Coonawarra Cabernet. Front Twenty Cabernet Sauvignon by Leconfield pays homage to Sydney Hamilton’s dream and the Hamilton Family’s contribution to the South Australian wine industry spanning 180 years in 2017.
