Yarra YeringDry Red No.1 1995
About this product
One of Victoria's true heritage wines, Yarra Yering Dry Red No.1 is primarily a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Malbec and a touch of Petit Verdot. Planted on a historic Yarra Valley site by the late Dr Bailey Carrodus, the 1995 Dry Red No.1 is a quite fruit forward example of what is normally an austere, old world style. Blackcurrant, red fruits and almost wide grain cedar can be tasted is an excellent vintage of the classic Yarra Valley icon.

Medium red-purple; the bouquet is of medium intensity with a gentle mix of cedar, leaf, cassis and earth surrounded by perfectly integrated French oak. The palate has very good flavour, with fully ripe fruit and no green canopy characters whatsoever; the flavours range through blackberry, blackcurrant and red berry fruits.
