Kay Brothers Amery VineyardsBlock 6 Shiraz 1999
About this product
Back in 1892, Frederick and Herbert Kay planted the Block 6 vineyard with a 'fruit salad' of varieties on a bed of remarkably varied soils. This natural diversity has allowed Kay Brothers to produce a concentrated masterpiece from this vineyard without any real need to play around in the winery. The vineyard does all the work. The 1999 Block 6 comes from a year that was considered the baby brother to the 'big' 1998, but now more than a decade since bottling, the 1999 is now regarded as the more prestigious and the year more adept at ageing.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.
