Château Barde-HautSaint-milion Grand Cru 2009
About this product
It is obvious to see that the recent changes at Château Barde-Haut have had a dramatic and pronounced impact on the quality of the wines being produced at this estate. With more of the Merlot dominated wine being put through Malolactic fermentation and more use of new oak, the wines are now showing real class and power. The 2009 was a vintage for the ages, and Barde-Haut were not left behind as the produced a wine that is full-bodied and over flowing with dark cherry and spice characters with a silky smooth length. A very small production though as May provided some hail damage unfortunately.

Vintage 2009
94 points Wine Advocate Jr
Made from tiny yields of 18 hectoliters per hectare (May hail damage resulted in this small crop), the opaque purple-colored 2009 reveals an extraordinary nose of mulberries, black cherries, charcoal, barbecue smoke and forest floor.
