The Star Lane Winery Sangiovese is a medium bodied fruit forward wine that is both lively and well structured. It has aromas of ripe cherries mulberries and plums and also carries notes of clove spice, cedar and dark chocolate. It contains an earthy minerality which is indicative of the granite slopes in which the vineyard is planted. Being an Italian varietal it is well matched with a variety of different dishes in particular rich roast meats and tomato based dishes which complement the fruity component of the wine.

Sweetly fruited and inviting, the wines shows dark cherry, plum, dried herb, game and toasted almond characters on the nose, leading to a beautifully weighted palate that’s succulent and rounded. It’s classically structured by fine-grained tannins, finishing long and engaging. At its best: now to 2028.
