The first shiraz grenache blends were made by d'Arry Osborn 50 years ago, and have since been embedded in the history of McLaren Vale. The healthy colour of this vintage is a good start, as is the distinctly fragrant bouquet with its amalgam of spice, leather and red and black fruits. The palate has greater power than many previous vintages at the same stage of development. The wine will flourish in bottle, revealing ever more as it ages over this decade.
