The Shiraz component derives from vineyard plots that include bush vine material. Parcels of very old vine Malbec bring further distinctiveness. The wine is vinified in open fermenters and matured for 12 months in new and used French oak.

Medium purple-crimson, with more purple tints than the Shiraz; a richer and deeper bouquet, with notes of plum and a touch of licorice coming into play, presumably courtesy of the malbec; the lowest alcohol perversely provides the greatest depth of flavour, with nuances of leather and wild blackberry, and a pleasingly edgy tactile quality to the palate.
