Marston's Oyster Stout pays homage to the hearty food dished up in London around the time of Dicken's. While no Oysters are contained with this traditional Stout, what is contained within is a richness and smoothness hard to find elsewhere. Brewed using Marston's special yeast taken from the Burton Unions, the very active yeast imparts a fresh, clean after-taste complimenting the full-bodied nature of this English Stout.

Came home and went to Dan Murphy's, bought a few different stouts and the Oyster Stout was the best. Its a favourite of mine on special occasions.

More a dark bitter than a stout

It's a straightforward easy drinking dark beer. Somewhat like a traditional 'bitter' meaning it is not over-hopped like many modern beers yet has some of the extra flavour you expect in a dark beer. Less 'forward' in flavour than a Coopers

Marston is one of the great English brewers. Try their Pedigree if you can. This stout disappointed. It was rather insipid, but I have drunk worse.
