Excellent colour and clarity; the aromatic bouquet reflects the complex varietal blend of Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Cabernet Franc, with cassis, blackberry and plum fruit, which sets the scene for the very appealing palate, awash with fruit yet tied together by the ripe spicy/savoury tannins on the finish.

Henschke Euphonium was formerly known as Keyneton Estate – a blend of shiraz (75 percent), cabernet sauvignon (11 percent), merlot (8 percent) and cabernet franc. It spends time in a mix of French and American oak, 30 percent of it new. This is an attractive mix of dark, porty, syrupy fruit flavour and powdery, dusty tannin. You could call it a killer combination. It tastes of blackcurrant and blackberry and smoky, spicy oak, its heart warm but covered in delicious flavour. Good wine all over.
