A portion is put to quality French oak barriques and undergoes partial malolactic fermentation and then maturation in for 8 months. Then it is blended with the stainless portion to retain freshness and acidity. Handling of quality Chardonnay fruit has come full circle, with a focus on fresh varietal characters and preserving some natural fruit acidity, coupled with controlled quality oak. This wine is a great example.

Light bodied white wines have a water-light mouthfeel. Often very pale to light colour.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Pale straw and lots of fruit intensity. An abundance of fleshy summer stonefruits, white flowers, grapefruit and lemon zest. Very appealing. The palate has an incredible chiselled and salivating acid line, great tension and length. Each sip makes you want to go back for another. Lovely.

It is gorgeously fruited and seductively complex on the nose showing ripe stone fruit, mango and vanilla characters with nuances of oatmeal and cedar. The palate is concentrated and wonderfully weighted with excellent fruit intensity backed by bright acidity and silky texture. Enticing and multi-layered. At its best: now to 2023.
