The Unicus is the product of Shiraz fruit that just could not be ignored in the Seaview subregion of McLaren Vale. When we see and taste exceptional, one of a kind fruit, it excites us to pick, nurture, and bring to your glass… an exceptional wine.This powerful Shiraz shows illuminating purity of plums, black currants and a touch of cedar. There is spicy clove and black pepper on the nose, supported by red and black currant perfume. The length and drive of well structured tannins allow the Unicus to cellar well.

Full bodied red wines have a noticeably textural mouthfeel with bold, complex flavours. Often deeply coloured.
Dry wines have no trace of sweetness at all.

Matured in new and old French oak for 15 months. It's a svelte shiraz. It's rich with sweet fruit, mostly in the plum and asphalt spectrum, though smoky oak, vanilla and clove characters play subtle-but-important roles. There isn't a lot of tannin to speak of but there's enough; it's simply melted into the fruit. It's made in a warmer style and stressed herb characters are apparent but all indications are that it will mature well.
