The Sottimano 2019 Barbaresco Basarin, made from 100% Nebbiolo from the Basarin cru in Neive, showcases a luminous ruby appearance with delicate aromas of wild cherry, grilled rosemary, cola, and pressed wildflowers. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and macerated on the skins for 40 days, this wine ages sur lie for 24 months in French barriques, 10%-15% of which are new. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, it presents a tapered and elegant profile with firm tannins and a long, satisfying finish. The slight crunch on the close will soften, enhancing this Barbaresco's beauty as it matures.
