The deep colour signals a wine with power and complexity; the bouquet is both spicy and savoury, black fruits dripping from every bower of the tree, precision-shaped tannins and quality oak perfectly matched.

Body of fruit here is excellent. It’s beautifully ripened too. Blueberry and black cherry, almost into asphalt. Warm but flowing and energetic. Tannin tumbles through the back half of the wine, firm but in-step with the flavour. Oak is malty and toasty but not in an overt or thick way; in general this is a well-handled and well-balanced wine. Indeed it’s hard to imagine anyone being disappointed here; quality is right up there.
