92/8%, the only such blend I know of, and just to underline the blend, the juice run off from the vat to increase the weight of the wine, matured for 22 months in French oak (45% new). Unsurprisingly, the fruits are as black as the night sky, but they are most surprisingly round and polished, and the tannins are so soft they are hidden within the folds of the fruit. It's only on retasting that the power of the fruit becomes apparent.

Cabernet and Durif are unusual bedfwellows, and Durif from here seems a long way from home. But what a delicious combination they make, not to mention how brilliantly well they''ve been crafted here. Deft dark currants, cedar, bricky tannin and hints of earthen boysenberry. A great effort that is more than worthy of a try.
