There's a sweetness to the fruit. This tips clearly into redcurrant territory. A wealth of tannin carves a wide swathe through the wine but the pour of curranty, slightly soupy, fruit creates the dominant impression. Cedary oak adds to the sweet impression. A general cabernet dustiness lingers about the edges. One thing is certain: it will live and mature in the bottle for a very long time.

Matured in French oak (7% new) for 18 months. Very good colour; a full-bodied cabernet with tannins filling the saddlebags on both sides of the palate; slightly adrift from the supple d''Arenberg style, but may come back into better balance.
